What are uncivil behaviors?
According to SUSESO Circular 3813, incivility encompasses discourteous or rude behaviors that, while lacking a clear intent to harm, conflict with the standards of mutual respect expected in the workplace.
Key examples identified by the ISL:
•Inappropriate tone of voice during interactions with colleagues or subordinates
•Hostile or discriminatory gestures in meetings or daily work situations
•Lack of respect for personal spaces and boundaries
The danger of normalization
Without clear guidelines, these behaviors become normalized and can escalate into situations of serious hostility or violence. Organizations must address them preventively to mitigate their spread throughout the workplace.
How does Audty help?
Our platform includes specific training modules to educate teams about these 'borderline' behaviors, enabling HR to detect micro-conflicts before they become formal legal complaints.
